People stopped collecting stamps

March 2026 · B4 Labs

Guests who already live on their phones expect a visit to count while they are still in the room, and they expect that count to work at the next place.

The habit itself is ordinary. Someone picks a place, shows up, pays, and leaves. What has changed is the expectation around those few minutes. A stamp card, a plastic membership, and a points balance that only exists inside one till all feel dated. The phone is already in their hand. If the product cannot confirm the visit before they stand up, it has missed the moment.

We keep asking how short that path can be, from walking in to a reward the person trusts. Discovery, check-in, a review, and a receipt work better as one sequence than as four separate prompts. A review written from a couch helps neither the venue nor the next guest. A reward that shows up a week later is easy to forget. The version we are designing happens while the person is still there, and it stays attached to them after they leave.

The same person can have a coffee, a meal, a night away, and a flight inside one trip. Most loyalty programs still keep a separate account for each. People plan around the next place. A system built for a single counter misses the rest of the day.

We also want the guest to skip any new ritual. A tutorial, an extra wallet step, or a stamp card under a new name all get in the way. The product should feel as ordinary as the visit. What remains after they walk out is the proof, and the reward.
